State-Approved Classroom Training Only
The Online Texas License to Carry (LTC) Course provides the full state-mandated classroom instruction required for Texans seeking their License to Carry a Handgun. This online module covers all legal, safety, and situational aspects of responsible handgun ownership and concealed carry — allowing students to complete the academic portion of their LTC on their own time, at their own pace.
Designed for new and experienced shooters alike, this course walks participants through the essential legal responsibilities of carrying a handgun in Texas, including use-of-force laws, nonviolent dispute resolution, safe storage practices, and requirements for lawful carry. Students can confidently approach the licensing process with a solid understanding of what the law expects from responsible gun owners.
This course does not include the required in-person shooting qualification.
Upon completion of the online portion, students will receive the official LTC-104 form, enabling them to schedule their shooting proficiency test with any certified LTC instructor.
Core Training Components Include:
Texas handgun laws — understanding where you can and cannot carry, signage, and prohibited locations
Use of force and deadly force — Texas Penal Code requirements and justified defense principles
Nonviolent dispute resolution — de-escalation, avoidance, and responsible decision-making
Safe firearm handling and storage — protecting yourself, your home, and those around you
Responsibilities of the LTC holder — legal accountability, interaction with law enforcement, and risk awareness
